Distressed Mazarine Blue

After seeing Sheena Douglas` demo at Dandie Crafts a few weeks ago, I`ve been having a little play with Distress ink backgrounds. I used a bit of Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade & Tea Dye Distress ink pads to make the background. I then sprinkled a bit of water onto the inking to create faded areas and inked the edge of the page with Walnut Stain. I don`t think I did too bad for a beginner.

The `Best Wishes` sentiment is from the Creative Expressions Leafy Swirl rubber stamp set. I stamped with Versamark & embossed with gold powder. I used the Tonic Mazarine Blue Die to add a beautiful detail to the card. The decoupaged butterflies are cut from metal and added to the card. The secret is, they are cut from a tomato puree tube - shhhh don`t tell anyone.
I finished the card with a ribbon & some self adhesive dewdrops.

It`s a very simple, but I think effective card

Time for bed now, night, night.

Hugs
Alison xx
