Good evening everyone. Just a quick post tonight to let you know I will be demoing in Bizzy Fingers at The Aberafan Centre, Port Talbot tomorrow from 10.30am. If you're free. pop in and say hello. I'd love to meet you.
I never get around to sharing as many cards as I'd like with you lately. Time seems to run away with me. So I thought I'd pick out a few for you to see.
This card was made using the Tonic Affection die set with the Mother's Day sentiment, Verdent Vine and of course some Petal Pair roses
I've used the Emily frame die on this card. I like to use two similar colours with my dies to give a little shadow and make the design pop. The Cameo is a stamp I've had in my stash for many years.
Here's a bit of ribbon stitching using the Blossom Bracket die. A very simple card, but I think it works.
I'm going to love and leave you now

Not a Faerie in sight!!!
Good Morning, it's an early start for me today, so just thought I'd catch up with you all.
Hope you're all enjoying the Tonic shows on Create & Craft. Jodie will be on Ideal World today with the Pick of the Day, hope you can join her.
I appreciate not everyone is into faeries, so I designed this card with that in mind - there's not a faerie in sight.
This is an 8x8" scalloped card. The background is embossed using our Roseanne embossing folder. The corners are so elegant and are from Ivy Bridge corner set. The centre design is from the Fae Hideaway set - I've cut the side without the faerie twice and I love the effect it gives. I'll certainly be using this over and over again. I've inked most of the die cuts with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - I think it's Vintage photo.
The Birthday Wishes is also a Tonic die from the Everyday Sentiments set. I've cut out two die shapes. one in caramel and another in cream, glued them together but slightly offset them to give a shadow effect.
The card is finished off with a rather large Silky Crush bow. I love this ribbon. I can't believe there's not a pearl or gem in sight, lol.
Have a fabulous day, I'm off to work to do some playing, he he!!
Hugs

Faerie Lantern
Hope you are enjoying the shows on Create and Craft with the launch of the Tonic Faerie dies.
I wanted to make a project with all the Faeries, so I decided to make a lantern. It`s lit with a battery operated candle.
Two sides of the box are backed with gold card and the other two are backed with vellum to allow the light to glow.
This is the top of the box
Will be back soon with more designs to share
Hugs

Rose Circle Selection
Hope you've all had a fab weekend enjoying the sunshine.
Here's a few cards using the Rose Circle die set to share with you
This is a 6 x 6" card. I've cut the outer and middle die from the Rose Circle die set in lemon and used a lilac card to back it. The corners are cut from the small Pansy Arch die and finished off with a ribbon, Petal Pair Rose and some gold self adhesive gems.
My second card is also made using the same die set, but they are very different cards.
This is an 8 x 8" card. I cut four strips in silver card using the Rose Circle Border Punch. I glued the strips to the edges of the card leaving the corners free. I then mitred the corners and stuck them down.
I cut 3 white Rose Circle dies. Then 2 silver and 1 white backing plate. I cut in half the 2 Rose circles with silver backing and stuck to a 7 x 7 " piece of white card. The centre topper is raised on 3D foam pads and finished off with 2 Frond Finesse die cuts, a white bow and a For You sentiment from the Pillow Box die set.
Hope you'll be able to join Jodie on Create & Craft for a Magical launch on Friday 14th March at 8am.

Dotty Lace Popcorn Box
Well the sun is shining in Wales and making me feel very springlike. Oh no does that mean I have to stop crafting to do some spring cleaning!!!!
Today I`m going to share with you an idea for a gift box for Mother's Day.
The box was made from the Crafter's Companion Sweet Treats embossing board. To decorate the edges of the box I punched some strips in grey using the Tonic Dotty Lace Intrica Punch. Because the sides of the box are sloping I was unable to wrap the punched strip around the box. So I cut four strips a little longer than the side of the box and trimmed them to size.
The handle was made from another punched strip approximately 12" in length. I glued this to the inside of the box. The top of the box is decorated with the 3 inner dies from the Intrica Dotty Lace die set. I trimmed the sides off the large die to fit the top of the box. I threaded ribbon through the holes in the small die.
The All my love sentiment is from the Indulgence Affections die range. I finished off with a few roses made from Petal Pairs punches.
Now all you have to do is fill the box with sweets or chocolates and I`m sure it will bring a smile to any Mother's face.

Dotty Lace Poppies
OMG I can`t believe how fast the Intrica POTW is selling on Create & Craft. It's already limited stock and close to selling out.
Just thought I'd give you an idea to use up all those toppers left over from kits that are sitting in the bottom of your craft box. I love poppies, so no surprise I chose a poppy topper.
For the card base I've folded an A3 card in half (so you have an A4 card) then cut it on half horizontally leaving two A5 cards that open on the side. Hope that makes sense.
I've cut approximately an inch from the front opening edge of the card and punched a border using the Rose Circle border punch.
I then punched a strip in white using the Rose Circle strip punch. I placed a piece of red A5 paper into the back of card and added the punched strip to the edge.
I used the Dotty lace die set to make the frame using the large outer frame and the large back plate.
To finish off I added a black ribbon and bow and a Hunkydory Poppy topper.

New Tonic Intrica Rose Circle die
I've been such a bad blogger recently. I really don't know where this month has gone. I had a wonderful time in Stitches & Hobbycraft show at the NEC. I enjoyed meeting all our Tonic customers and having a good giggle.
Friday sees the launch of our new Intrica dies and punches. Here's a card to share with you.
This card shows the Intrica Rose Circle dies. The dies are Verso (as you would expect from Tonic) I've cut the outer circle from the front of the card. Inside the card I`ve glued another piece of card (the same colour) and layered the other dies in the set on this part of the card.
The punched edging is from the Tonic Dotty Lace strip punch. I've cut away part of the edging to make the punch work narrower. Ribbon has been interweaved through the strip.
I`ve added the Happy Birthday design from the Tonic Everyday Sentiments dies and finished off with some ribbon and self adhesive pearls.
Join Jodie at 12 o'clock for the launch.
Will be back soon with some more designs.

Valentine's Day Approaching
With Valentine's day upon us this week I thought I'd share with you a quick Valentine card made using the Tonic Indulgence Affection Dies.
The heart on the left of the picture is made using the base heart from the Tonic indulgence Affections On Mothers Day. I`ve cut four of the large heart shapes in white card and four of the decorative large heart in red card.
Stick the red filigree heart on top of the white backing heart. I like to use the Tonic Funky Glue.
When the glue has dried, fold each of the hearts in half.
Glue each half of the hearts to the next. Stick the flat part of the back of the hearts to your card.
The smaller heart is from the Tonic Indulgence Affection Be Mine set.
The card is finished off with a bow and some pearls.
I`ve got an exciting week ahead as I`m off to Craft Hobby & Stitches trade show at the NEC. I just know I`m going to be like a kid in sweetshop. If you`re visiting the show, please come along to the Tonic Studios stand and say hello.
Thanks for dropping by

Yet Another Sad Time in the Whelan Household
We`ve had a bit of a difficult time again, my Dad passed away last week. He never got over loosing my Mother. After almost 50 years together it was an enormous wrench. At least now they are back together.
It`s not all been doom and gloom though. I am thoroughly enjoying settling into my new job at Tonic. I`m like a kid in a sweet shop, lol.
I`ve got a card and a frame to share with you today using the same die - EMILY frame die set.
The Forever Moments range from Tonic just lends itself to using vintage photographs. This one is another cutie. I`ve used an A5 card. The colour combination is not one I would normally use, but I took the colours from the photograph.
Cut a strip of card and punched both sides using the Regal Border punch. The Emily frame fits beautifully around this picture. I`ve finished off with a large bow and two of the small Tonic Layering Butterfly die cuts.
I painted the frame using acrylic paint. The baby image was cut out using Tonic Circle Layering dies and the pink layer behind was made using the Scallop Circle layering dies.
All this needed to finish it off was a couple of pearls.
It`s a horrible night here, wet & windy. So I`m going to light some candles, snuggle up in front of the fire and watch some TV.
Take Care
Hugs
