Petal Pairs Flower Tutorial

Well here goes, this is my first tutorial. I hope it makes sense to you.

There are many ways to make flowers with Petal Pairs. this is just one of them. I have made the flowers from 120gsm paper.

Punch six flowers - doesn`t matter which punch you have.

Interweave two of the flowers, so you have three pairs. Your interwoven flowers should look like the black & white flowers at the bottom of the picture.

Gently mold the petals of the top layer in your fingers so they have a slight bend. Fold petal 5 & 2 together so they meet, place a small dab of glue inside the petals to hold them together. fold in petal 3 add a dab of glue to secure. Do the same with petal 4 and lastly number 1. You will now have a small bud. Next fold in the next layer of petals in a circle adding a small amount of glue to each petal.

Put a dab of glue into the centre of the next set of petals and place the bud already made into the centre. I usually leave this for a few minutes, as I find it easier to work with when the glue has gone off.

Fold in the next layer of petals and gently roll the bud in your hands. I don't glue this layer. Fold in the next layer and secure with a bit of glue near the base of the petals. Stick this larger bud to the next set of petals with a dab of glue.
Gently fold in the next 2 layers of petals - I don`t glue these in place.

Each punch gives a slightly different shaped flower.


You`ve now made you first flower. Don`t worry if the petals of your first layer open a little, the flowers still look just as good


I like to colour the flowers after I`ve made them with Distress inks, but they could be coloured with Promarkers before making them.


I`ve also used the Petite Petal Pairs - hopefully this picture shows the difference in the sizes
