Had a fab weekend away with my husband, the weather was beautiful and I have to say I felt thoroughly rested.
Here`s a card I made using the Baroque Oval die set from Tonic. I cut the design into the card rather than using the outer cutting die.
I`ve had the teddy decoupage for ages and I`m a mission to try and use ALL the stock in my craft room - how many times have I said that. I`ve added a bit of Distress ink to the background card.
The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. The border is punched using the Tonic Baroque punch.
Picked up the new Pick of the Week stock today from the Tonic HQ so I`m off to have a play

Time to start on my Christmas Cards
Well the time has come for me to start making my own Christmas Cards. Have made some as DT projects for Tonic but this is MY first.
I have to make confession I started making this card last year and it got left in a box. This year I`ve added the lovely robin. He`s from a stamp made by Hobby Art and I think he`s sooo cute. He`s coloured using promarkers. There is an embossed wreath in the background which isn`t showing very well on the photo
It`s been such a busy time over the past few weeks in the Whelan household I`ve hardly had time to breathe. My Son decided a week before the start of the University term that he wanted to do a full time course in Newport University as well as the part time course he was already registered for. He was so lucky to get accepted. So then he decided he was going to move to Cardiff. Thankfully we didn`t have to look around for accommodation as there was a free place in his friend`s house. I think he`d planned all this beforehand, hmmmm.
Dad has had a spell in hospital but is now recovering slowly.
My knee is well on the way to recovery after my little fall in the garden centre.
Tonic has kept me very busy with all the new launches, which I`ve loved preparing for.
Can`t believe I`ve written such a long post. This must be a record. I`m going away for the weekend with my husband to chill out and have some time for us, which has been very minimal of late.
Catch you after the weekend

Loopy Lace Border
Another Black & White card I`m afraid. I`ve used the loopy lace punch as a border
The wine glass & bottle stamp is from my stash I think it`s from Inkadinkadoo. The corner stamp is a Clarity stamp and the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.
This card is suitable for a man or woman, always a good idea in your card box.
Catch up soon

Baroque Oval Birthday
Wow, what a fabulous response to the new Tonic dies, you obviously like what you see.
Here`s another card made using the new die`s & punches. This time it`s the Tonic Baroque Ovals design.
Can you guess, I love black & white cards. I seem to make a lot of them, lol. I`ve used the Baroque dies & punches and also the Tonic Frond Finesse and of course just had to finish off with a ribbon, pearls and some Petal Pair flowers.
Enjoy the rest of the Tonic Pick of the Day shows

Here Comes the Bride
Absolutely love these Hobby House topper designs, they are so cute.
The diorama style card is made from 2 A5 sheets of card. Scored at both ends at 1" and 1.5" on both sheets. I`ve cut the frame using the new Tonic Love Arch die set. The little heart on the inside of the card is from the same set. The edge of the card is punched using the matching punch. The leafy flourish is from the Verdent Vines set of dies and the flowers are used with the Petal Pairs punches. Here`s a link to my tutorial to make the roses

Catch Jodie tonight on Ideal World at 9pm and throughout the day tomorrow on Ideal World & Create and Craft to see the new die sets and punches. I`ll be back with more designs soon

Bargains Galore
Have you caught up with the Strictly Crafting shows on Create & Craft and Ideal World today. There are certainly some wonderful bargains to be had. One that caught my eye was the Tonic Bird Dies, Stamps & Papers kit.
Here`s a tea light holder I made from the birdcage die.
I added a battery tea light, it looks delightful when lit
Here`s a couple of cards I made using the dies.
Catch up with you again soon

Busy day today.....
My Son is moving to Cardiff today to start a new venture in his life. He's starting his CIMA Accounting course tomorrow in Newport University. James has never been one to do things by half, because the CIMA course is only one day per week, he's also decided to do a full time course in Business & Law. As well as that he's taken on the role as Treasurer for the Bridgend & Porthcawl Marie Curie group. I could not be more proud of him. I am going to miss him tremendously.
I wish you all the luck in the world James.

Red Velvet
Wow, I can`t believe how fast the Tonic goodies are flying out of the Create & Craft shelves this week - well I can, because they`re stunning.
Here`s a card I`ve made using the Indulgence dies and the Bauble Tag die
The die is cut out of Velvet paper which I found whilst perusing the shelves at Dandie Crafts. It`s soooo touchy feely.
Jodie will be back at 2pm on Create with some more ideas.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow ........
...Oh dear I`m singing again. It must be the effect these new Tonic dies have on me.
Here`s another card I`ve created using the Tonic Decorative Wreath die set and the Let it Snow from the Sentiments die set
The background is made using Distress inks and the stamps are the Sheena snowflake stamps. I went to see a demo by Sheena last weekend at Dandie Crafts, near Pontypridd. Sheena is such a clever lady and sooooo inspiring. I need to do a lot more practicing, but need to clear my desk before I get the paints out, lol. If you haven`t visited Dandie Crafts then you really should, In my opinion it`s the best craft shop in the South Wales area, and I`ve visited a lot of them.
The little die cut snowflakes are made using the Tonic Simplicity geared punch.
Hope you managed to get the Tonic 4 day deal and the Tonic Team have given you plenty of ideas.
I really must clear my craft room now as you can`t see my desk or the floor - Arggghhhh!!!
Enjoy the rest of the Tonic shows this week

The First Noel .......
.... Good job you can`t hear me singing. I`m on a roll today, the new Tonic dies are so easy to work with, it`s not hard to come up with ideas - my brain is working overtime!!
Here`s a Christmas decoration I`ve created using the new Decorative Holly Rings die set and the Noel die from the Sentiments die set
I`ve used the large outer die for the top bauble. I cut six die shapes and joined them together, I did the same with the small die for the bottom bauble.
What do you think of the new dies? They are selling like hot cakes, so there must be a lot of people loving them.
I`ll be back with more ideas soon

Tonic Decorative Wreath Die Set
Hope you managed to catch Jodie at 8am this morning with the first viewing of the new Tonic die sets. They are beautiful, so delicate and ever so versatile. I`ve used the largest of the Decorative Wreath dies to create this card. I`ve added the Poinsettia made with the Bouquet Boutique Poinsettia die set and papers. The Merry Christmas greeting is from the Tonic Cracker die set.
I`ll be back later with another creation to tease you - it`s still drying!!!
Hope you enjoy rest remainder of the shows on Create & Craft over the next 4 days.

Tonic Sneaky Peaks for You
I can`t believe how fast the time is going it`s September already and will soon be Christmas OMG!!! Tomorrow sees the launch of a new set of delicious dies on Create and Craft starting at 8am with Jodie Johnson.
Her`s a card I`ve made with the New Decorative Bow Die Set. I didn`t want the die to be just for Christmas, so decided to make a baby card.
The colours don`t seem to be showing as well on the camera today - the bow is looking rather bright. The card opens to show the following front and side view
The sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp I`ve had for ages.
Hope you like the card and enjoy the new dies.
